Formulation of policies and making recommendation on matters in the arena of students welfare; implementation of policies of the University reg. students' welfare , advising court EC. reg. discipline among students, residence of students, financial assistance to students, relevant matters as may be referred to it by the competent authorities; promotion of health & welfare as well as securing well-being of students; framing / amending rules for hostels,. providing guidance to students in respect of avenues of higher education and opportunities for employment, exercising supervision over the bodies related to students' activities; Guiding students' publication; submission of rules as may be made and amendment / repeal of rules, if any, to the court and the EC for approval.
Composition
Vice-Chancellor as chair, Deans of faculties, Medical Officer, Dir. of Phy. Education, NSS coordinator, Provosts/Supdt. of halls/hostels, president & Secretary of Students' Union, one E. C. member as nominee of the EC, two persons as co-opted by the council having interest in students welfare, Dean of Students' Welfare as secretary.
