1. Activities reflecting the goals and objectives of the institution:

NAAC has re-accredited the University with a ‘B’ Grade (CGPA 2.67) in June 2008.
-
IQAC has been reconstituted for the internal quality assurance of the university as per guideline of the NAAC and it has fixed definite visions keeping in mind the Golden Jubilee Year starting from November 2009. Several other committees under the IQAC have also been established to ensure greater involvement of teachers, officers, staff, and students and to look after the specific aspects of quality assurance. Necessary infrastructure support of the IQAC with office space, computers and staff required for creating, maintaining and processing information database has been provided.

The research output of the university has been strengthened and it is evident in a bibliometric study carried out by National Institute of Science, Technology and Development Studies (NISTADS) on the basis of publication output in Science and Technology in India that University of Kalyani is ranked 16th with the research publication growth rate of 69.04% among top 43 productive universities having average growth rate of 63%. NAAC Reaccredidation Report dated March 12, 2009 clearly supports the quality of research, consultancy and extension activities with CGPA of 3.65.

Department of Folklore has been regularly publishing their bilingual journal entitled ‘Lokedarpan’. Department of Physiology and Department of Commerce have started the publication of the ‘Journal of Environmental Physiology’ and ‘Business Perspective’

- Affiliation for offering M.A. in Sanskrit, M.Sc. in Physiology and Sericulture has been extended to K. N. College, Baharampore.
- Kanchrapara College was given affiliation for offering M.A. in Hindi
3. Innovation in Curricular design and transaction
- Revision and updating of curricula is a continuous process of the university. Revisions of curricula of all the subjects in the PG level have been completed and semester system for all the subjects in the PG level has been implemented.

The centre is responsible for the development of knowledge and skills relating to the low-cost housing technologies among the rural youths, engineers and construction workers. Nadia Zilla Parishad has been inducted to construct about 20 primary schools using this technology.
