The Health Centre started functioning since the inception of the University. Initially it was located in different places of the University. It's own building was built up in April 1978. The beautiful one storied building is situated near the entrance of the main campus and adjacent to the Guest House.

In addition to Medical Officers there are also paramedical staffs like Pathologist, Radiologist, Pharmacist, Nurses, Dressers etc.

Services Rendered by the Health Centre

• Medical and health oriented services are rendered to the University community i.e. students, employees and their families and to some extent to the surrounding population.

• Usually it gives services from 10:15 AM to 5:15 PM (usual university office hours) and Medical Officer gives 24 hour service to the residential students only. General illness are treated with utmost care.

• Health Centre has an Ambulance and a Self-Diaognostic unit i.e. X-ray checkup, routine experiments of blood, urin and stool (Cytology, Biochemistry and to some extent Serology)

• Health Centre also arranges vaxination programme from time-to-time.

• Health Centre also educated the surrounding community and the community under the jurisdiction of the University through health oriented education programme in collaboration with the Adult Education Centre of the University.
