  1. Delivered lecture on the topic “On the Question of Hunger and War” in a Seminar organised by Dipta Chakraborty Memorial Fund Committee. Bose Institute Research Scholars’ Forum, Calcutta (1995).
  2. Delivered lecture on the issue “Sociology of Human Rights” in a workshop organized by DIG of Police, Murshidabad Range in Collaboration with West Bengal Human Rights Commission (1997).
  3. Presented a paper (Feb. 2001) entitled ‘Biswayan O’ Unnayan’ (Globalization and Development) in the First West Bengal Social Science Congress. Jointly organized by Jadavpur University and Indian Academy of Social Sciences.
  4. Delivered Valedictory Address in the Seminar on “Population ageing in the New Millennium, Emerging Issues and Future Challenges in India organized by the Department of Sociology, University of Jadavpur, in collaboration with the NSS. On 22 September, 2004
  5. Presented paper in the Second International Congress of National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) (4th Nov.2009-6th Nov 2009) at New Delhi.
