The Vice-Chancellor
The Vice-Chancellor is both Academic & Administrative Head of the University, who is assisted by all administrative and academic heads. The University with a view to democratize the academic administration, has adopted the rotation system of departmental heads, with a tenure of two years. The rotation of headship is restricted to readers and professors and normally no extension is granted. The University functions under the overall guidance of the Court which is the supreme authority consisting of representatives of government, faculty, affiliated colleges and members from the community. While the University administration is almost conventional in its character, the peer group noted a high degree of understanding between the faculty and the Vice-Chancellor and a climate of participatory democracy in the overall administration .
